What is Cold Rolled Steel & DC Steel Series?
Cold rolled steel refers to carbon steel that, after hot-rolling, undergoes further cold reduction to achieve precise thickness, smooth surface, better dimensional accuracy and improved mechanical properties. The DC-series (DC01, DC02, DC03, DC04, DC05, DC06) under EN 10130 are low-carbon cold-rolled steels graded by their maximum yield strength and formability.

Specifications Table for Cold-Rolled Products
| Grade | Drawing Quality | Typical Forming / Drawing Capability |
|---|---|---|
| DC01 | Standard Drawing Quality | Profiling, simple stamping, parts where high formability isn't critical (SteelPro) |
| DC02 | Transitional Grade | For applications where DC01 is too strong but DC03 is too soft (less common) (MWalloys) |
| DC03 | Deep Drawing Grade | Light drawing, light stamping, moderate forming requirements (European Steel Business Group) |
| DC04 | Deep Drawing / Press Forming Steel | Appliance housings, automotive lighter parts, structural components with moderate shape complexity (products.tatasteelnederland.com) |
| DC05 | Special Deep Drawing Steel | More complex shaping, deeper draws, slightly tighter material quality requirements (steelplatesforsale.com) |
| DC06 | Extra-Deep Drawing Steel | Complex deep drawing parts, large deformation stamping, automotive body panels, precision forming (MWalloys) |

| DC05 | 0.06 | 0.35 | ≤ 0.025 | ≤ 180 | 270–330 | ≥ 40 (steelplatesforsale.com) |
| DC06 | 0.02 | 0.25 | ≤ 0.02 | ≤ 170 | 270–330 | ≥ 41 (MWalloys) |
How to Choose the Right Grade for Your Project
For simple parts (like housing, chassis, frames) where high formability isn't needed → choose DC01 / DC02.
For light drawing or moderate stamping parts (e.g. appliance panels, light metal housings) → DC03 / DC04.
For deep drawing or parts with moderate deformation → DC04 / DC05.
For complex deep drawing, large deformation, automotive body panels, fuel tanks, precision deep-stamped parts → DC05 / DC06, with DC06 recommended for the most demanding forming tasks.
What GNEE STEEL Offers
We supply the full DC range (DC01–DC06), so you don't need to switch supplier when project requirements vary. You just pick the grade that fits your forming complexity - we handle the rest (coil/slit/plate conversion, surface treatment, export documentation).
