Products Description
What is DC06 Cold Rolled Steel?
DC06 is the top-grade in the EN 10130 cold-rolled low-carbon steel series, designed specifically for extra-deep drawing and complex forming. Its ultra-low carbon content, controlled deoxidation, and tight chemical/mechanical tolerances make it ideal for parts requiring high ductility, uniform surface, and minimal risk of cracking or tearing during deep stamping.
DC06 Material Properties & Specifications
| Property | DC06 (EN 10130) |
|---|---|
| Max Carbon (C) % | ≤ 0.02 |
| Max Mn % | ≤ 0.25 |
| Max P / S % | ≤ 0.02 / 0.02 |
| (Optionally) Ti % (or Nb) | ≤ 0.30 - improves formability control (MWalloys) |
| Max Yield Strength Rₑ (MPa) | ≤ 170 |
| Tensile Strength Rₘ (MPa) | 270–330 |
| Minimum Elongation A (%) | ≥ 41 - indicates superior ductility and deep draw capacity (Jeavons Coil) |
Because of these properties, DC06 offers very high formability, excellent surface finish after cold rolling, and is well-suited for coating, painting, and further processing (bending, welding, deep drawing, stamping).
Typical Applications for DC06 Steel
Automotive body panels and internal structural parts - doors, trunks, fuel tanks, chassis reinforcements requiring deep drawing and high surface quality.
Home appliance cabinets and shells (washing machines, refrigerators, ovens) where deep drawing and smooth coating surface are required.
Metal housings for electronics, enclosures, casing parts requiring complex shapes and consistent quality.
Precision stamped components in furniture, electrical goods, HVAC units, radiators, etc.

Why DC06 Matters - Advantages Over Hot-Rolled or Lower-Grade Cold Rolled Steels
Compared with hot-rolled steel, cold rolled DC06 ensures higher dimensional accuracy, better surface finish, and more consistent mechanical properties - essential when tight tolerances are required.
Compared with lower-grade cold rolled steels (e.g. DC01, DC03), DC06 offers significantly better deep-drawing performance, lower risk of cracking or failure during large deformation, and superior elongation - ideal for complex stamped shapes.
