SPCE cold formed cold rolled mild steel flat plate

Feb 19, 2024

1. Grade Definition and Equivalents

SPCE (JIS G3141) is a cold-rolled low-carbon steel for deep drawing. Its European counterpart is DC03 (EN 10130, W.Nr. 1.0338) - cold formed cold rolled mild steel flat products. The two are approximate equivalents; specify the standard on the material certificate.

2. Chemical Composition (Typical, wt%)

Element C Mn P S
Value ≤0.08 ≤0.40 ≤0.030 ≤0.030

3. Mechanical Properties

Condition Tensile (MPa) Yield (MPa) Elongation
Cold-rolled flat, t ≥0.35 or w ≥600 mm (EN 1.0338) 270–350 140–210 ≥38%
JIS SPCE (typical) 270–330 ≤195 ≥40%

Thickness corrections (EN): for 0.5 < t ≤0.7 mm, yield +20 MPa and elongation −2%; for t ≤0.5 mm, yield +40 MPa and elongation −4%.

4. Surface Designations

Surface type A or B; surface specification b = extremely smooth, g = smooth, m = matte, r = rough. Example designation: EN 10130+A1-DC03-B-g. The product should not show tensile strain marks within 6 months from the date of manufacture (strain-aging control).

5. Applications

Deep-drawn automotive components, appliance panels, kitchen equipment and general stamped parts requiring consistent forming performance.
