cold rolled steel

Choosing the correct cold rolled grade is essential for manufacturers to reduce material waste, tooling wear and dimensional defects. The DC series offers increasing formability from DC01 upward - meaning that every upgrade improves deep-drawing capacity.

What is cold rolled steel?

Cold-rolled steel is a type of high-precision steel produced from hot-rolled coils through further rolling at room temperature. During multiple passes of cold deformation, the thickness of the steel becomes more uniform, while surface smoothness, dimensional accuracy, and mechanical properties are significantly improved. Since the cold-rolling process does not involve reheating, the final product achieves an excellent surface finish with no oxide scale, high flatness, and a bright appearance-ideal for industries that demand strict precision and aesthetics.

Cold-rolled steel is widely used in automotive manufacturing, home appliance housings, architectural decoration, machinery processing, metal stamping, and electronic equipment casings, making it an indispensable material in modern industrial production.

Our company can also supply the following cold-rolled steel grades:
DC01 – Designed for basic forming processes such as bending, embossing, beading and standard drawing operations.
DC03 – Intended for more demanding forming applications, including deep drawing and more complex profiling.
DC04 – Suitable for applications requiring high levels of formability.
DC05 – A deep-drawing grade developed to meet very high forming requirements.
DC06 – A special deep-drawing grade engineered for the highest demands in cold forming.
DC07 – An ultra deep-drawing grade tailored for extreme and highly challenging forming operations.

If a manufacturer mistakenly selects DC03 for ultra-deep drawing, cracking and wrinkling may occur. Instead, DC07 ensures maximum stretch, smoothness and deformation compatibility, making it ideal for precision shells, fuel tanks and luxury appliance components.

GNEE STEEL also produces other cold-rolled steel grades. If you have any needs for cold-rolled steel plates, cold-rolled steel coils, galvanized steel plates, or galvanized steel coils, please contact us. We will provide you with the latest quotation!
