The substation link, as the name implies, is the link that changes the voltage, which is mainly completed in substations and substations. Transformers and distribution transformers in power plants also belong to "power transformation", but when we talk about the power grid link, power transformation is specifically the substation of the power grid company, that is, a large substation above 10kV (not included).
Basic introduction to substation
#Q1 Why transform electricity?
For long-distance power transmission, the higher the voltage, the smaller the current and the smaller the loss, so voltage transformation is mainly to reduce losses. And if it is close to residential areas, the voltage will be lowered and safety will be improved.

#Q2 Principle of power transformation (voltage transformation)
The principle of voltage transformation is to change the AC voltage by changing the number of turns of the two coils of the transformer, which can increase or decrease the voltage.

The electric energy from the power plant is boosted by the substation for long-distance transmission. When it reaches the user's vicinity, the voltage is reduced as needed and distributed to the user.
Basic structure of power system
The substation mainly steps up or down the voltage of electric energy to facilitate the transmission and use of electric energy. It also collects multiple power sources and distributes them to users to enhance power supply reliability.
The substation in the power transformation link covers a large area and has a high voltage level.
substation
The electricity output from the power plant can be boosted to 500kV, 330kV, or 220kV through the substation. After reaching a certain distance, the voltage is reduced by the substation from 500 to 330 to 220 to 110 to 35 to 10 (unit is kV).
But 10kV is still too high compared to the voltage used in daily electricity. The transformers we can see next to our communities convert 10kV or 6kV electricity into 380V for factory electricity or 220V for household electricity.
