What is the thickness specification of galvanized steel pipe?

May 10, 2023

The thickness specifications of galvanized steel pipes are generally expressed according to the wall thickness (that is, the thickness of the pipe wall), and there are usually the following common specifications:
1. Conventional sheet thickness: For galvanized steel pipes with an outer diameter below DN15 and below 26.9mm, the commonly used wall thickness is generally 2.0mm or 2.5mm.
2. Light-weight sheet thickness: For galvanized steel pipes with outer diameters below DN15 and 26.9mm, light materials (also called thin-walled) are mainly used for low-pressure fluid transportation such as water supply and gas. Lightweight sheet thickness generally adopts a wall thickness of 1.4mm, 1.6mm or 1.8mm.
3. Standard sheet thickness: This specification is mainly for steel pipes with small and medium diameters (generally below DN40), basically covering most of the domestic market demand. Commonly used wall thickness standards are: 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.5mm, 2.8mm, 3.0mm, 3.2mm, 3.5mm, 3.8mm, 4.0mm, etc.
It should be noted that the above thickness specifications are for reference only, and different application scenarios and requirements may have different requirements for wall thickness. In the actual selection, it is necessary to comprehensively consider according to the specific situation and choose the most suitable specification.
