What is cold-rolled steel sheet?
Galvanized sheet metal is steel or iron coated with a protective layer of zinc to prevent corrosion, commonly produced through a hot-dip process. There are some differences in materials and manufacturing processes between SGCC and SGHC hot-dip galvanized steel sheets, as follows:
Material and naming:
SGCC:
S stands for Steel, G stands for Galvanized, C stands for Cold, and the fourth C stands for Common. Therefore, SGCC stands for hot-dip galvanized thin cold-rolled steel sheet1.
SGHC:
S also stands for Steel, G stands for Galvanized, but H stands for Hot, and the fourth C also stands for Common. Therefore, SGHC refers to hot-dip galvanized thin hot-rolled steel sheet1.
Manufacturing process:
SGCC:
It adopts cold rolling process, that is, the steel sheet is rolled through a rolling mill at room temperature to achieve the required thickness and size.
Cold-rolled steel sheets have good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy, but their processing performance may be slightly inferior to that of hot-rolled steel sheets1. SGHC: It adopts hot rolling process, that is, the steel sheet is rolled through a rolling mill at high temperature. There may be a certain amount of iron oxide on the surface of hot-rolled steel sheets, but the processing performance is good, and it is suitable for some occasions that require higher strength and toughness. Application: Due to different manufacturing processes and performance, SGCC and SGHC hot-dip galvanized steel sheets may also differ in their uses. But in general, they are both hot-dip galvanized steel sheets with excellent corrosion resistance and decorative properties, and are widely used in construction, home appliances, automobiles, transportation and other fields.
