What is Galvalume Steel Coil?
The galvalume steel coil, also called aluzinc steel coil, is made by cold-rolled steel sheet as a substrate and solidified by 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon at 600 °C. Similar to galvanized steel, galvalume steel is produced by a hot-dip process. It combines the physical protection and high durability of aluminum and the electro chemical protection of zinc.

Application of Galvalume Steel Coils

The advantages are as follows
1. Corrosion resistance: Galvanized sheet has strong corrosion resistance, with a normal service life of up to 25 years, which is 3-6 times longer than galvanized sheet and is comparable to stainless steel. The corrosion resistance of galvanized sheets comes from the barrier layer protection function of aluminum and the dedicated protection function of zinc. When zinc is used to protect the trimmed edges, scratches and abraded parts of the coating, the aluminum forms an insoluble oxide layer that performs barrier protection. Al-Zn alloy-coated steel coils have been subjected to outdoor exposure tests for more than 20 years in various atmospheric environments, proving that the trimming protection function of 55% Al-Zn-coated steel sheets is better than that of galvanized steel sheets and 5% Al-Zn-coated steel sheets. 2. Heat resistance: Al-zinc plate has a high degree of heat reflectivity and is suitable as a roof material. Al-zinc alloy steel plate itself also has excellent heat resistance and can be used in high temperature environments up to 315 degrees.
3. Recoatability: (paint film adhesion) The galvanized sheet can maintain good adhesion with the paint film and can be directly sprayed or powdered without special pre-treatment.
4. Corrosion resistance after coating: After the galvanized plate itself is partially painted and baked, the corrosion resistance of the unsprayed parts will be slightly reduced. The function is much better than electroplated color zinc, electrogalvanized sheet and hot-dip galvanized sheet.
5. Processability: (shearing, stamping, spot welding, seam welding) Al-zinc coated steel sheet has excellent processing properties and can be punched, sheared, welded, etc. The coating has good adhesion and impact resistance.
6. Electrical conductivity: The surface of the galvanized plate is specially waxed to meet the needs of electromagnetic shielding.
