Surface treatment of cold rolled steel plate

Aug 28, 2023

The surface treatment of cold rolled steel can improve its corrosion resistance, appearance and functionality. The following are some common cold-rolled steel plate surface treatment methods:

Galvanizing: The cold-rolled steel plate is soaked in molten zinc to form a zinc layer, which is called galvanizing. This treatment can provide superior corrosion resistance because the zinc forms a protective oxide film on the surface of the steel plate, preventing direct contact between the steel and the outside environment.

Coating: Coating the surface of the cold-rolled steel plate with a layer of coating, such as paint, paint, coating film, etc. This coating can provide an extra layer of protection and increase corrosion resistance, while also being used for aesthetics and decoration.

Electroplating: By dipping a cold-rolled steel plate into an electrolyte containing metal salts, metal ions are deposited on the surface of the steel plate to form a layer of metal electroplating. Electroplating can improve corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and appearance of steel plates.

Spraying: Use spraying equipment to evenly spray the protective coating on the surface of the cold-rolled steel plate. This method is suitable for situations where a local or specific coating is required.

Polishing: The surface of the cold-rolled steel plate is mechanically polished to make its surface more smooth and bright, and to remove the surface unevenness and oxide.

Sandblasting: By spraying sand particles on the surface of the cold-rolled steel plate to remove oxides, dirt and inhomogeneity, thereby improving the surface quality.

Different surface treatment methods can be selected according to specific needs to meet the requirements of cold-rolled steel plates in different application fields, thereby increasing their durability, aesthetics and functionality.
