Galvanized Stamping parts

Jul 10, 2025

I. Material Characteristics

Corrosion Resistance
The zinc coating (pure zinc or zinc-iron alloy) provides superior rust prevention, extending part lifespan. Hot-dipped galvanized steel (SGCC) offers better corrosion resistance than electrogalvanized steel (SECC), suitable for humid or corrosive environments.

Strength-Formability Balance
Galvanized steel combines good formability (deep drawing, bending) with enhanced strength through zinc layer thickness control (e.g., Z80 denotes 80g/m² zinc coating) to meet varying load requirements.

Surface Properties
Options include spangle-free, regular spangle, and brushed finishes. PVC film may be applied for scratch protection (e.g., aluminized-zinc steel stampings).

II. Key Application Fields

Sector Typical Components Material Requirements
Automotive Door impact beams, chassis brackets, A/B-pillars Double-side galvanizing (≥50g/m²), high-strength steel (HC340/590DP)
Home Appliances & Electronics Washing machine casings, AC mounts, server chassis Electrogalvanized steel (SECC), thickness 0.5-1.5mm
Construction Hardware Structural connectors, guardrails, pipe fittings Hot-dipped galvanized steel (SGCC), zinc layer ≥85μm
Telecom Equipment 5G base station enclosures, heat sinks, EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) shields Galvalume steel (SGLD), high thermal conductivity

III. Stamping Process Critical Points

Die Design

Precision dies control tolerances (±0.1mm); complex parts may require ≥7 progressive dies.

Use 8566 die steel for sharp corners (e.g., R0.5) to prevent DC53 punch fracture.

Processing Challenges

Zinc layer scratching requires anti-spalling measures; stainless-galvanized hybrids need optimized bending to avoid cracking.

Ultra-thin sheets (0.5mm) demand CNC punching (e.g., WKC-2000) for ±0.15mm precision.

Surface Treatment
Additional anodizing (aluminum) or anti-fingerprint coating (electronic parts) may be applied.

IV. Common Material Grades

General Stamping‌: DX51D+Z (hot-dipped), SECC (electrogalvanized)

Deep Drawing‌: DX53D+Z, SECD (high ductility)

Structural Parts‌: HC340/590DP (high-strength galvanized dual-phase steel)

Note: Galvanized stampings constitute 39-43% of NEV(New Energy Vehicle) components, primarily for battery enclosures and safety frames.

Galvanized steel duct

Galvanized steel duct

I. Basic Duct Type

Galvanized Duct
Standard HVAC ventilation duct, zinc coating ≥80g/m² (avg. thickness 45μm) for general corrosion resistance.

Welded Galvanized Steel Duct
Fabricated by welding galvanized sheets; seams require anti-corrosion treatment (e.g., zinc-rich paint ≥96% Zn content).

Spiral Galvanized Duct
Lock-seam spiral construction, diameter range Ø80–2500mm; production capacity: 3000m/day. Zinc coating: Z40 (standard) / Z80 (high-corrosion).

II. Flanged Duct Systems

Standard English Technical Specifications
Galvanized TDC Flange Straight Duct Integral flange formation; reduces cost by 30% for low-pressure systems (≤1000Pa).
Galvanized Angle Iron Flange Straight Duct Welded L-shaped frame (e.g., L30×3 angle iron); required for medium/high-pressure systems (>1000Pa).

Key Notes‌:

TDC‌ = Thin Duct Connector (industry-standard term)

Coating grades‌: Z200 (≥200g/m² zinc) mandatory for smoke extraction systems.

III. Technical Parameters Reference

Material Standards‌:
ASTM A653 G90 (Z275) galvanized steel for ducts

Pressure Ratings‌:

TDC flange: Max. 1000Pa (sealed with pressure-sensitive tape)

Angle iron flange: 1250–2500Pa (bolt-fastened)

Corrosion Protection‌:

Standard: Z40 coating (40g/m²)

Severe environments: Z80/Z200 coating + seam sealing

Usage Example‌:
"Spiral galvanized ducts (Z80) with TDC flanges achieve 60% faster assembly in commercial HVAC projects versus welded alternatives."
