Chemical Composition Analysis:
The chemical composition of galvanized steel shall conform to the corresponding standards. Analyze the chemical composition of the steel using equipment such as a spectrometer to determine the content of various elements. For example, the content of elements such as carbon, silicon, and manganese in the steel affects its mechanical properties, while the zinc content relates to the quality of the zinc coating. If the chemical composition fails to meet the standard, it may lead to unstable steel performance, rendering it unable to meet engineering requirements.
Mechanical Performance Testing:
Includes tensile tests, bending tests, etc. Tensile tests determine indicators such as the steel's yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation. Performing a tensile test on a galvanized steel rebar: as the tensile force is gradually increased, the rebar begins to undergo plastic deformation; the stress at this point is the yield strength. Continuing the tension until the rebar fractures, the maximum stress reached is the tensile strength. Bending tests examine whether defects such as cracks occur in the steel during bending. Bend the galvanized steel sheet in accordance with specified requirements and observe whether cracks appear at the bend. If cracks are present, it indicates potential issues with the steel's toughness and workability.
