There are various types of cold-rolled steel grades used in the automotive industry. These grades are classified based on their properties and characteristics, such as strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance. Here are some common cold-rolled steel grades used in the automotive industry:

Deep Drawing Quality (DDQ): This cold-rolled steel grade is ideal for deep drawing applications, such as the manufacturing of automotive parts like fenders, hoods, and doors. DDQ steel has excellent formability, making it easy to shape without cracking or tearing.

Extra Deep Drawing Quality (EDDQ): EDDQ steel is similar to DDQ steel but has even better formability. It is commonly used to manufacture complex automotive parts like fuel tanks, oil pans, and transmission cases.

Bake Hardenable (BH): BH steel is designed to undergo bake hardening, which increases its strength and hardness. BH steel is commonly used to manufacture automotive parts like door frames and seat structures.

Specific steel types of automotive steel:

1. Ultra deep drawing IF cold rolled steel plate
In ultra-low carbon steel with carbon ≤ 0.008%, add sufficient amounts of strong carbon and nitrogen compounds to form elements titanium and niobium, so that the carbon and nitrogen atoms in the steel are completely fixed into carbon and nitrogen compounds (Ti (C, N), Nb(C, N)), there are no interstitial atoms in steel, this kind of steel is called "Interstitial Free Steel", abbreviated as IF steel.

2. Cold-rolled high-strength steel plate
Deep-drawn cold-rolled high-strength steel plates are mainly strengthened with phosphorus. This is due to the strong strengthening ability of phosphorus, which is about 7 times that of silicon and 10 times that of manganese. Adding 0.1% phosphorus to steel has the same strengthening effect as adding 0.7% silicon or 1.0% manganese. This can save a large amount of alloying elements, which not only reduces the production cost of steel, but also does not cause the steel to be added with a large amount of Alloying elements (Si or Mn) reduce the plasticity of the steel plate.

3. Cold-rolled dual-phase steel plate
As the strength increases, the elongation of the steel plate decreases. To obtain a steel plate with high strength and good plasticity, the ideal structure should be ferrite (high plasticity) + martensite (high strength). It is required that the martensite does not destroy the continuity of the deformation of the basic structure (ferrite) during stamping. The martensite should be island-shaped. This kind of ferrite + martensite steel is called dual-phase steel.

4. Surface treated steel plate (can be combined with high strength steel plate)
(1) Hot-dip galvanized and electro-galvanized steel sheets; (2) Alloyed hot-dip galvanized steel sheets (abbreviated as GA steel sheets); (3) Zn-Ni alloy electro-plated steel sheets; (4) Double-layer Zn-Fe alloy electro-plated steel sheets; (5) Thin film organic composite steel plate; statistics show that the corrosion rate and failure rate of cars produced with hot-dip galvanized steel sheets are only 1/3 of those produced with ordinary steel sheets. It becomes more obvious as the car's service life extends.

5. Hot rolled pickled steel plate
The production process of hot-rolled steel plates is short and the cost is low. The steel plates have high strength and good elongation. They are mainly used to manufacture automobile frames, wheels, compartments, chassis and structural parts. This kind of steel plate has been pickled with hydrochloric acid, online smoothed and oiled. The surface of the steel plate is smooth and smooth, and the dimensional accuracy is high. It is called hot-rolled pickled steel plate. It can be used to replace some cold-rolled steel plates to produce structural parts and deep-drawn parts to reduce automobile costs.
