The national standard grade of 430 stainless steel is 1Cr17. Its characteristics are cheap, magnetic, good ductility, good thermal conductivity, small thermal expansion coefficient, good mechanical properties of heat fatigue resistance weld parts, good corrosion resistance, and good chloride stress corrosion resistance.
Although 430 stainless steel does not contain nickel, it also has better corrosion resistance? Why is this? First of all, chromium and nickel have different divisions of labor in terms of corrosion resistance. Chromium mainly prevents rust caused by natural oxidation, while nickel mainly prevents corrosion by chemical media. Secondly, when stainless steel contains more than 12% chromium, it can well prevent oxidation corrosion in the natural environment.
